Today I had to put down my best friend and companion since 2001. Sophie was a great dog, a bit energetic wanting to play catch all the time, but still a great dog. She has been sick for a couple of weeks, and wasn't eating or drinking. The vet said Pancreatits. She didn't show any signs of discomfort except for moving every once in a while when she was laying down. She was not nearly as active as she usually was this past weekend.
God love her, she was willing to play catch right up until the end, even though it was obvious she had alot of discomfort.
I'm going to miss you Sophie, but I'm sure you are up in doggie heaven pestering those around you to throw the ball.

Sad day at homeReal sorry to hear that Section. I too had to go thru it on mother's day of all days. My big Bern couldn't go any longer. He was gunna be 13 this year and for a St. Bernard that is old. He did have a great life here on the farm . Never tied up n plenty of room to roam. It sure is tough losing a part of your family. I will make a good sugestion here Section: Go to York Photo once. You can upload photos there and they will print them about anything for a real resonable price. I had a 20 x 30 poster made to hang in my shop (that was his favorite) for about 15 bucks I think. I have dealt with them for over ten years and they do an awsome job! I also had a travel mug. They are real fast too! Good luck to you and the rest of your family, I know how you feel bud!

Sad day at homeYea, I do feel a little better knowing that she was able to look in my eyes as it was happening, and letting her know it was ok. Our vet was nice enough to do a house call since Sophie wasn't a dog who liked car rides, and hated the Vet's office. She was wagging her tail and went right up to the Vet when she arrived which was good to see.

Sad day at homeHey Bro - Our hearts and prayers go out to you. We had to put down our second in two years last year. Our dogs are our children so we know how you feel. Sad day at homeWow, section. I was afraid that's what this was when I saw your Av change. Remember when D2Moo went through the same thing. It's always hard losing a member of the family, even 4 legged ones. My thoughts are with you, my friend.
