Field of 64 - Sci-Fi Movies - Round 2

Long overdue on tallying the results and getting round 2 up. A couple of surprises, at least in my opinion, in the last round with Back to the Future somehow beating War of the Worlds, and Jedi beating Sith. I added some comments to the round 1 results entry. Here is a link to the first round for anyone who missed it.

Not surprisingly, there were a few questions about movies that missed out, as well as which version of a particular movie made the list. If there are multiple versions of a movie, it is most likely the original, but feel free to use the version you liked better to make your decision.

A few rules that I would ask everyone to follow so that I am not pulling my hair out while running this thing.
1. Vote for all of the matchups. If you don't like either, or can't decide who you like better, flip a coin. When counting votes for 32 matchups, it is easier to know I tallied everything correctly if all matchups have the same number of votes.
2. You can bold your selection, or cross out the one you don't like, but keep your response in a list form, including the areas (east, west, etc.) Again, this just makes it easier for me to count up the votes
3. Not really a rule, but feel free to make comments on the matchups if you like. It makes for interesting reading

Here are the round two matchups. Hope you enjoy. Some interesting matchup, How does a Terminator fair against T-Rex, Apes vs. Monkeys, Star Wars vs. Star Trek.

Field of 64 - Comedians - Sweet 16

Time for a new round, and yes once again I am late with getting the votes counted. Too much stuff going on right now to keep a set schedule, so I will post an end time, but the voting may go on for a few extra days in case I get too busy again.

I wanted to thank everyone for their participation, and the kind words you have to say about my little games. If you have your own blog game, feel free to post a link when you submit your votes. I play in quite a few of your games, and don't mind joining more. I usually see them since I add anybody who posts here to my favorites.

Recap of the rules.

It makes for interesting reading.

Results of the last round, and my thoughts on the matchups.

#1 Woody Allen 12 #10 Billy Crystal 25 Two people didn't vote on this one, but that was probably due to a typo on my part. I gave a vote to each participant to be fair, but looks like I could have given both to Woody and he still would have lost. I like Billy better.
#2 Rodney Dangerfield 31
#8 Red Skelton 6 Rodney getting some respect, tough matchup but I would have went with Rodney
#3 Bob Newhart 15 #6 Bob Hope 22 Another tough matchup, but I would have voted for Bob Hope
#4 Jonathan Winters 25
#5 Buddy Hackett 12 Man, this was a rough group, toss up here, but probably would have went with Buddy

#1 George Carlin 32 #12 Henny Youngman 5 - George wins easily, just like he did
#2 Chris Rock 24 #8 Steven Wright 13 See comments above, replace George with Chris
#3 Bill Cosby 32 #7 Andy Kaufman 5 Andy had some great routines, but was a bit odd at times, I like the Cos better.
#4 Don Rickles 28 #6 Albert Brooks 9 Don Rickles easily.

#1 Lenny Bruce 32 #8 Phyllis Diller 5 Sorry Phyllis, the tribe has spoken.
#2 Eddie Murphy 23 #7 Jack Benny 14 - Eddie wins
#3 Jerry Seinfeld 17 #6 Redd Foxx 20 Another close vote for Jerry, but this time he comes up short, I would have voted for Redd
#4 Sam Kinison 10 #5 Carol Burnett 27 Kind of a surprise here, I would have went with Sam

#1 Richard Pryor 26 #11 George Burns 11 - How could you vote out God? George would have been my choice
#2 Steve Martin 34 #8 Dennis Miller 3 I really don't like Dennis Miller, so I would have went with Steve.
#3 Robin Williams 27 #7 Milton Berle 10 - Really hard choice here, but Robin Williams is pretty darn funny.
#4 Bill Hicks 5#5 Johnny Carson 32 No surprise here.

Now for the new matchups. Shouldn't get any easier from here on out, although the first group lost a 1 and 3 seed.

#2 Rodney Dangerfield #10 Billy Crystal
#4 Jonathan Winters #6 Bob Hope

#1 George Carlin #4 Don Rickles
#2 Chris Rock #3 Bill Cosby

#1 Lenny Bruce #6 Redd Foxx
#2 Eddie Murphy #5 Carol Burnett

#1 Richard Pryor #5 Johnny Carson
#2 Steve Martin #3 Robin Williams

Voting will close on Monday, February 2nd (or maybe a couple days later)

Since that blog-off is over, time to start a new one. This idea came from mikeyfan1599, and includes a couple of people who aren't really comedians, but are very funny.

It makes for interesting reading.
